Our Leadership
Smitty Wheeler is the President and Founder of the Faith Based Media Group, a full-service sales and marketing arm of several highly respected Christian Publishers and Christian Radio Groups. Prior to launching Faith Based Media Group, he had enjoyed a decorated career in executive management, sales and marketing at a number of publicly traded media companies, including: Salem Communications, E.W. Scripps and Journal Communications.
Mr. Wheeler launched his career in media when, as a full-time college student, he began publishing a local magazine in his home town. He then expanded his magazine concept into four states and more than twenty markets. After selling his company, Smitty then directed the advertising and marketing for two rapidly expanding national restaurant chains and was a partner in a radio development group where he directed the operations of their radio station acquisitions.
Smitty is skilled in all areas of sales and marketing and has demonstrated his success in these areas for over two decades. With his executive management experience and history of improving existing products, developing and launching new products and increasing market share for his clients, Smitty offers himself a a resource to both the companies he represents and the clients who are seeking guidance and assistance in promoting themselves.
